Recreator Hemp Apparel

If you have a question that is not answered below, refer to the Contact page for the proper channel of communication.

How do Recreator garmets fit?

Recreator hemp T-shirts are cut for a classic fit, good for casual settings and active lifestyles. Men’s Hundo tees have an extra 1” of length. The sizing on blended tees and fleece are true to size. Hemp fabrics wear in, not out. They naturally form to fit your body with continued use. 100% hemp fabric wears much like linen, and is lightweight and semi-sheer. Stretch fabrics blended with Lycra have tight compression and less stretch than similar athletic polyester garments. Women’s tops are cut standard to accentuate the natural drape of hemp fabric.

What’s the best way to wash and dry Recreator hemp apparel?

Care Instructions

Wash Cold – helps retain hemp’s natural luster, maintains size and shape, protects prints
Tumble Dry – or line dry, keeps shape and size, minimizes fiber damage
No Bleach – can weaken hemp’s tensile strength, fabrics are PFD or semi-bleached
Iron Ok – be careful around any prints or embroidery, linen setting for 100% hemp

Recreator hemp clothing is lightweight, breathable and naturally odor-resistant. When we wear Recreator gear, we wear it for multiple days, especially the Hundo.

Will it shrink?

All Recreator hemp clothing is pre-washed and pre-shrunk. If it shrinks at all, it should only shrink a little. That said, it’s best to wash cold and tumble low or line dry.

Does Recreator have a warranty on its products?

We take pride in the craftsmanship of our product line. If your item is defective, please contact us immediately for an exchange. If it’s just worn out over time, then that’s Okay. It means you just loved the gear and wore the shit out of it. If a button pops off and your mother isn’t around to sew it back on for you, take it to your local tailor. If you’re looking for customization or repair over the years, drop as a line. We may be amenable. This warranty does not cover damage caused by accident, improper care, negligence, normal wear and tear, or the natural breakdown of materials over extended time and use.

Do you use viscose hemp in your products?

Nope. Never have. Most folks don't know the difference between natural hemp fiber and viscose hemp, which is processed like rayon. Recreator does not use viscose hemp, because it requires toxic chemicals for processing, some of which affect personal and planetary health. Because of this process, it's easy to understand why organic cotton and natural hemp fibers are more sustainable and eco-friendly. As well, viscose textiles lack the critical performance qualities of raw hemp fiber. Read more about the environmental effects of viscose in hemp clothing.
